Painted Beauty - 1954 Wally Byam Holiday serial #1135

I had thought in the beginning that this Holiday had been painted by the owner as my earlier Holiday #1094 was bare aluminum like Airstreams generally are.  I bought the this, #1135 from the son of the original owner though who bought it new in early 1955.  He says this is the original paint scheme. The paint you see here was, I'm guessing, a last minute touch to spruce it up for the photographs on eBay. It was a spray can job over the already pealing red first coat.  The first thing I did was to work on stripping the paint, emphasis on work. Below are shots of the Holiday when I first brought her home.
